Small place with big flavors!!!!!! If you want authentic Mexican food you definitely must try Tavos. Food is phenomenal. Service is good but our server seemed like he was having a bad day. This won't stop me from coming back though. Not much ambiance. I was ok with that because the food was the Star of the show. Prices are on the high side. I will definitely come back to Tavos!!!!

Went out with my wife and we found this small gem. Outstanding food and great service at a great price. House margaritas and house tacos were better than top shelf elsewhere. If you’re looking for a great meal that won’t break the bank you have to stop here. Space is small but they do take online orders. Also tried the mango habanero margarita which was smooth, delicious and just the right amount of heat.

We got the mollejitos, enchiladas rojas, and the flan. As a vegetarian, I highly recommend this restaurant - not only did the food taste authentic, but they are very willing to make substitutions. There's a vegetarian section on the menu that lists what they can replace the meats with which I really love. Best flan I've ever had - not too sweet, the flavors really popped. Can't wait to come back for more since there's so many other dishes I want to try on the menu. It's a pretty small restaurant with about 5 tables, so you definitely need to call ahead to make a reservation (you can't make a reservation online).

Amazing restaurant with upscale Mexican food. The birria was so delicious and I will absolutely be coming back for them! The service was great as well. Also to note this is a very tiny restaurant with only about 5 tables and maybe 2 spots at the bar.

My boyfriend and I visited Tavo’s for the first time to celebrate his birthday, and we were not disappointed! We walked in, and were able to be accommodated immediately despite it being a small space with very limited seating. Our server was friendly and helpful, and gave us great suggestions! We enjoyed our drinks, and the guacamole is one of the best we have had! We can’t wait to become regulars.

Honestly, not that this places needs another 5 star review, but why not!?! First, this is NOT New Mexican cuisine, it’s not even TexMex, but it is bougie Mexican food. So no Hatch green chiles here. With that said… The food is excellent. It’s all in the seasoning and presentation. We were lucky to walk in and be seated immediately too without reservations, seeing as they are frequently waitlisted. The Birria Tacos are 5 out of 5, best we’ve ever had. I just closed my eyes and tried to memorize the flavor it was so good. How do they get their beef to taste like that?! The Steak Enchiladas (1 carnitas) were 4/5. Enchiladas are hard to impress, but that verde sauce was on point and the corn tortillas were soft and delicious. Carnitas were excellent, but the steak was steak, nothing superior than the norm, but good. Black beans banging too. The elote was gone before we could even take a pic. The Sopes a la carte with carnitas was excellent from top to bottom, yummy! The red and green salsas were fire!! Amazing, well made. Not every spot gets both right. They threw in the their Molletitos which were okay, but a nice introduction. The Guacamole Azteca was pretty good too, definitely worth it with the plantain chips. Save some and add to your tacos or other entrees too. The Firebowl Platanitos was memorable to say the least for its scrumptious rum and cinnamon flavor and fun experience. Overall, wonderful quaint date night! We recommend you try whatever your heart desires because you will likely enjoy whatever you get.

Possibly one of my favorite Mexican restaurant experiences in Wisconsin. This quite almost unassuming restaurant serves up incredible , honest and authentic food . We arrived early as they do not take reservations and immediately got seated . The lady behind the bar that welcomed us and took our order was awesome . Very kind , welcoming and took the time to explain the menu and answer our questions . She guided us in the right direction . We were brought a small portion of Molletitos to start . Almost a version of Mexican bruschetta instead the base was refried beans topped with tomatoes and queso . Drinks were great too . Did not want to try any tequila based cocktails so I chose the passion fruit mule with vodka and ginger beer . Refreshing unique and paired great with the entire meal . Continued with an order of guacamole and corn chips . Perfectly seasoned creamy slightly chunky yet easy to dip and scoop up . Main courses were house tacos , three different flavors including a vegetarian filled with zucchini which was excellent (did not snap a photo ) and the cheesy birria tacos with a side dip like a au jus . Cheesy and deep flavor from the slo cooked meat and not greasy ! By the end we were so full but not feeling heavy at all. Inside the restaurant is small with a few cool wall paintings that add to the vibe . The lady was excellent and service super. There is available parking in the back of the restaurant. Definitely will be back very soon !
